For Youth Grades K-2

 

Mindful Me utilizes the Essential Elements of youth development to promote mindful practices which lead to improvements in:

  • Managing one’s own goals
  • Developing a sense of self
  • Time management
  • Stress management
  • Emotional regulation
  • Mindful eating

 

 

 

The curriculum can be implemented in a variety of program settings, such as school enrichment, after-school programs, clubs, camps, and community-based sites. Utilizing the provided program evaluation must be included in this implementation plan.

OPTIONAL PROGRAM ACTIVITIES/EXPERIENCES: Staff are encouraged to use Teen Teachers in program implementation if available.

  • Teen Teachers can be trained by participating in the Mindful Mechanics program or by utilizing the Mindful Moments, which teaches the basics of mindfulness practices.

Partner with local libraries in your community as this program utilizes children’s literature to engage the learners.

Work with Nutrition and Wellness Educators, and SNAP staff to assist in the delivery of the Mindful Eating lesson.
