IL 4-H IDEA Leaders Purpose:

We’re not just another club, we’re a movement.
The IL 4-H IDEA Leaders (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) are here to make sure everyone feels welcome, seen, and empowered in 4-H.

As part of the Better Together Committee, YOU will help shape how Illinois 4-H becomes more inclusive and equitable by working on real projects that matter.

Here’s what we focus on:

  • Make 4-H more inclusive. Help ensure our programs and priorities reflect the real needs of our communities.
  • Keep it real. We’re honest and open about our commitment to diversity and inclusion—and we show it in our events, social media, and everything we do.
  • Create safe and welcoming spaces. Work with youth, families, volunteers, and staff to build environments where everyone belongs.
  • Reach those left out. Help us connect with people who haven’t historically had access to 4-H—while learning how to challenge bias and grow together.

Your voice matters here. You’ll help develop, lead, and monitor our statewide plan to make these goals a reality.
