Bill Million retired from University of Illinois Extension as a 4-H youth development specialist on December 31, 2018. As a specialist with the State 4-H Office he served as liaison for Illinois 4-H International programs while providing leadership for statewide programs focused on Food Access and Protecting and Appreciating Our Environment. During his last five years, Bill engaged Illinois 4-Hers in learning about and ways to address hunger in Illinois communities. Through community gardens, 4-H Hunger Ambassador teams and meal packaging events, 4-Hers recognized they could be part of the hunger solution. The I Think Green, Pathways to Science through Nature, 4-H Citizen Science, Honeybee Challenge and Monarchs on the Move programs encouraged youth to be aware of how their daily actions affected the environment and the world around them. Now in retirement, Bill enjoys volunteering with the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen in Champaign and being a Master Gardener.
