The State 4-H Livestock Ambassador Team, in partnership with the University of Illinois Department of Animal Sciences, is excited to host the 2025 State 4-H Livestock Skillathon Contest! This contest is designed to help youth build the knowledge and skills needed for the Superior Young Producers Skillathon, held annually at the Illinois State Fair.

Event Details

• Who Can Attend: All Illinois 4-H members
• Date: Saturday, November 8, 2025
• Location: University of Illinois Stock Pavilion, Urbana-Champaign Campus
• Entry Fee: $15 (includes lunch, no refunds)
• Registration Deadline: November 3, 2025

Age Divisions:

• Junior: Ages 8–11
• Intermediate: Ages 12–14
• Senior: Ages 15–18

Banners awarded to the top five individuals in each division!

What You’ll Do

Join us for a morning of hands-on, engaging activities, including:

• Livestock knowledge quizzes
• Practical judging exercises
• Identification of breeds, feeds, and equipment

A short workshop will follow the contest to further enhance your skills.
