For 47 years, Pat Yeagle has embodied the spirit of volunteerism that lies at the heart of 4-H. What began as a parent volunteer soon became a lifelong passion for helping youth discover their potential and develop skills that last a lifetime.

Over the years, Pat has served as a dairy and swine project leader and, since the 1980s, as the organizational leader of the Snappy Snazzers 4-H Club. Through her guidance and encouragement, she has helped generations of members build confidence, responsibility, leadership, and compassion.

To many youth and families, Pat has been more than a volunteer leader. She has been a mentor, role model, advocate, and trusted friend. Her commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment ensures that every member feels valued, supported, and able to succeed.

Pat's leadership extends beyond her local club. She has served on county committees, supported volunteer development efforts, and shared her expertise with fellow volunteers, helping strengthen the 4-H program for youth across the region.

Through nearly five decades of service, Pat has demonstrated the values that define Illinois 4-H—service, leadership, inclusion, and a genuine commitment to helping young people thrive. The countless youth, families, and volunteers she has influenced are a testament to the lasting legacy she has built.

For her extraordinary service, compassionate leadership, and profound impact on generations of young people, it is our great honor to recognize Pat Yeagle of Stephenson County as the recipient of the 2026 Illinois Salute to Excellence Lifetime Volunteer Award.

Congratulations, Pat, and thank you for making the best better for Illinois 4-H.
