Gordon Kelm has dedicated over 50 years to 4-H as a Volunteer Organizational Club Leader and in numerous other roles. His unwavering commitment to 4-H has positively impacted an estimated 2,300 youth. Gordon’s involvement began in his family farm community where both his parents met through 4-H. He continues to live and work on the farm, and his leadership extends beyond agriculture to include diverse interests like aerospace and robotics.
Gordon’s roles include being a long-time camp coordinator, 4-H Show judge, and a fundraiser for various 4-H initiatives. His commitment to supporting and mentoring youth is evident in their continued involvement in 4-H leadership roles. He’s a respected resource for other volunteers and staff, known for his humility and dedication to improving youth experiences.
Gordon has also contributed to community service projects, such as creating a commemorative brick area at the fairgrounds and organizing a successful referendum to fund 4-H programs. His contributions have been recognized with several awards and honors, including induction into the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame.
