Dan and Johnna Jennings each dedicated 32 years to University of Illinois Extension and Illinois 4-H, creating innovative educational opportunities that impacted countless youth, volunteers, and families. As Animal Science Educator and later State Livestock Specialist, Dan advanced statewide animal science programming, launched initiatives including the State 4-H Junior Livestock Conference and State 4-H Livestock Ambassador Team, and helped establish the first National Livestock Skillathon Competition. Johnna served as a 4-H Youth Development Educator and unit educator, leading volunteer training efforts, coordinating youth programs, and bringing hands-on science learning to classrooms through chick embryology. Together, they developed educational resources and award-winning programs while inspiring generations through their passion for 4-H, Extension, agriculture, leadership, and positive youth development.
