From judging at our 4-H shows to volunteering in 4-H, Tim McPherson is an amazing supporter of 4-H. Making sure children have access to learning opportunities, Tim regularly volunteers as a 4-H show judge - usually in the areas of visual arts & clay, where he shares his expertise as a professional ceramicist. Known affectionately as a "super" volunteer, Tim regularly volunteers where needed - including as the Unit's go-to Chicken Egg wrangler. For many years now, Tim has made the over 145 mile one-way trip to Champaign-Urbana from his home in downtown Chicago at least twice a year to pick up and transport fertile chicken eggs for the Embryology Classroom Program in Grundy & Will Counties. Asking nothing for his time, Tim has also often made the trip much more frequently (sometimes on the same day!) if more eggs are needed. Tim has also been a Master Gardener volunteer for over 18 years. We are very lucky to have Tim as an honorary 4-H member.
