Penny Peterson has lived in Edgar County, Illinois since May of 1990. She moved here with her husband of now 42 years Randy Peterson. Penny has two children Randy Allen Peterson and Kristian Klyaic, Three grandchildren Kymberley Klyaic, Jay Peterson, and Kaylee. Penny and her husband farm 500 acres together. Penny is also a cook at Crestwood School, and also runs a successful advertising specialty business since July of 2000.

Penny was a very active leader in the North Arm Hustlers 4-H club for 9 years where she had 48 active members. The club was the first to start a cemetery clean-up in their township on old deserted cemeteries. The club won awards for these projects and so did some of the members in the club.

Penny also belonged to the Edgar County Home and Community organization for 26 years which provided lunch and supper for all the local area 4-H members and their families during the fair.

Penny is a 12-year member of the Edgar County 4-H association Broad as Treasurer, where she cooks and manages the breakfast for the week of the fair or all area 4-H members and families during the fair. She also helps with the 4-H auction that is put on by the fair association.

Penny has always been very active in the community with FFA, Rotary Club, and Relay for Life. She always finds ways to work with youth and help make a difference in their lives.
