Hank Marquardt has provided a wealth of information to youth in 4-H poultry projects over his 24 years as the poultry superintendent in Monroe County. His appreciation for livestock began as a 4-H member in the Moonlight Boys and Girls 4-H club and he carried it into adulthood with his support to current 4-H members. Hank enjoys talking about poultry to youth and has taught workshops about the differences between the breeds and how to select good quality in addition to judging various 4-H, Jr. and Open Poultry shows. He even helped to develop the meat pen class for 4-H/FFA members to sell at the county 4-H livestock auction. Furthermore, Hank has been an Illinois State Poultry Tester for over 20 years which has been a great benefit for the local 4-H kids. We value Hank’s experience and enthusiasm for 4-H!
