As a faithful 4-H member growing up in Washington County, it was no surprise that Pam Jacobs would spend her adult life dedicated to 4-H and Extension. Pam began her Extension career in 1977 as a Youth Advisor with the University of Illinois Extension in Monroe County. Pam committed countless hours to growing the program within the county as well as devoting time to youth at the Illinois State Fair, state camps and other state events for 4-H youth. After 15 years providing direct leadership to the Monroe County 4-H youth program, Pam became Monroe County’s Unit Leader in 1992. Pam later took on the role of County Extension Director in 2011 for Monroe, Madison & St. Clair counties until her retirement in 2019. While in these roles, she continued as a mentor for 4-H staff, members and parents who are appreciative of her dedication in building up the 4-H program and other Extension programs throughout her years of service.
