Dan and Melinda Horton are nominated for the IL 4-H Hall of Fame because they are dedicated to 4-H and what it stands for. They both grew up active in their respective 4-H clubs. Dan and Melinda have four girls all who were also active in 4-H, showing livestock and general projects. For several years they had three of their four girls in 4-H at one time. Today their girls are out of 4-H, but their three oldest grandchildren are already active in the 4-H club that Dan and Melinda are leaders of. The grandchildren make three generations of a Horton being in The Terre Haute Superstars 4-H club (Dan, their 4 girls, the 3 grandchildren). Both Melinda's mom and dad were longtime leaders. A little fun fact, it was through 4-H that Dan and Melinda met.
