Ralph Koning has been a 4-H Beef Superintendent since 1976, and is a mainstay of the Winnebago County Fair, for 43 years and counting. Ralph is great at reassuring first-time exhibitors, quick to help with misbehaved cattle, and has chased a few around too. Ralph was in 4-H as a youth and was a 10-year member of Seward Determination 4-H Club. He then became a 4-H leader with the Westfield Wildcats 4-H Club for 15 years where he instilled a love of 4-H and livestock shows in his children and grandchildren. Ralph and his family also sponsor and organize a meal for the 4-H beef exhibitors and their families every year in the beef show-ring. It's a nice celebration for the 4-Hers who put many hours of hard work into preparing their cattle for Fair. Ralph Koning’s generosity and caring spirit set a wonderful example for our youth and adults to follow. Winnebago County 4-H program greatly appreciates Ralph Koning for his many years of service to 4-H and youth, and we are happy to present him as our 2019 4-H Hall of Fame nominee.
