Bill Bree was a 4-H member of the Peaceful Valley 4-H Club in Mason County, where he participated in the livestock judging team and showing cattle. He took his love for farming and livestock and became an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor, working at Pontiac High School and later retiring from Lincoln Community High School. He currently manages the family farm in the San Jose/Mason City area and is a breeder of Simmental cattle. He continues to give back to 4-H by serving as a livestock judge at 4-H shows across the state and at the Illinois State Fair. He has served as a judge at the Mason County Fair for many years, always finding time to give back to his home county. He has judged poultry, goats and sheep. Bill also judges the Mason county beef scramble show each year, where the winner is awarded the Robert Bree Trophy, in memory of his father.  Bill is well respected for his expertise and knowledge of many livestock species. He has been the teacher at
numerous 4-H poultry and goat workshops in Mason County. Bill always finds a way to keep the learning experience interesting and fun for all of the youth involved.
