William Riechmann was an active 4-H member for many years in the Okawville Busy Bees and served as leader from 1958-1969. Besides leading the meetings and helping members with their projects, William organized Share the Fun skits and other fun activities for the group. During William’s adult life as a parent and grandparent of 4-H members and as a local business owner, he has continued to support the local 4-H clubs and live out the 4-H Pledge. His family business, Riechmann Bros. John Deere supports 4-H in many ways. For many years, the Okawville 4-H floats were built at the Riechmann shed at no charge to the club for the space and tools used. At the Washington County Fair, Riechmann Bros. have sponsored the Champion and Reserve Champion trophies for Cats, Beef, Sheep, Swine, Dairy Cows, Rabbits, Poultry, Horse, Dogs, Goats, and Ponies for decades.
