Todd has been the 4-H Beekeeping SPIN Club leader for the past 4 years in DuPage County. He has provided all of the equipment and lesson plans for more than 30 youth who have grown to love honey bees. Todd has also made an impact on the parents of the participating youth. It is common for the parents to ask to stay during the lessons because they themselves are interested in starting hives with their children at their own homes. Todd offers a welcoming environment to ensure that the community understands the importance of honey bees in that they are a necessity to our food chain and a way for suburban youth to learn about agriculture. DuPage County is grateful to have Todd Gordon as a volunteer in the county as he has provided a newfound enthusiasm for bees and beekeeping in suburban youth in DuPage County.
