Award Year
2017

Kathy has been an active club leader and county volunteer for seventeen years and counting. She is a lifetime 4-Her as she went from being a member to Extension Adviser to club and county volunteer. She is a strong believer in service learning. Ten years ago, she helped her club establish and maintain a food pantry and community garden to supply fresh produce to the food pantry. Everything the club members do at the food pantry and garden are supported by 4-H projects including foods, horticulture, engineering, water conservation, agriculture and more. She has engaged the youth in civic responsibilities and helped them to understand how they can make a difference globally. At the   county level, she has served on numerous committees and has taught many workshops to members and leaders. Kathy is a very dedicated volunteer to the 4-H program. She and husband, Rod, have raised three daughters who are also now volunteering in the 4-H program. Thank you for your commitment to the McLean County 4-H program, Kathy!
