The extraordinary team of Jim and Kathy Torrance embraced and uplifted the 4-H members of McDonough County for over 30 years. Jim passed away October 19, 2015. The community will always remember his joyous nature of empowering youth to seek their full potential. He oversaw and announced the sheep show during the McDonough 4-H Fair, as well as, co-lead the Center Stars 4-H Club with Kathy for many years. Even after being out of the ring he never stopped coming out to the show barn. Jim was always on the sidelines cheering on 4-H members. All that have had the pleasure to meet him miss him dearly.

Kathy has and will always be a great asset to the clothing program. Her attention to detail is second to none, and her kindness and compassion for others has made her a fair judge that 4-H members look forward to seeing every year. She has even inspired some 4-H parents to pick up the sewing needle again. Kathy and Jim have five children who they supported through the McDonough County 4-H program and four grandchildren who Kathy still enjoys watching show and participate in 4-H. McDonough County is proud to nominate this extraordinary team into the 4-H Hall of Fame.
