For 48 years, Don has been a leader for the Effingham County 4-H Small Engines/Lawn Mower/Tractor Safety School. Don works with area implement dealers to sponsor the event. He also wrote a grant through Monsanto to receive $2,500 for his club to purchase more educational material. Don has made a huge impact in so many youth over the years. Youth are more aware of all the dangers around farm equipment, lawnmowers, small engines, and hidden dangers in our own home! Don and his wife, Patsy, also led the Shumway Eagles 4-H Club from ’67 to ’72. Effingham County has been so fortunate to have someone who is so dedicated to keeping our youth safe! Don is a great asset to Effingham County 4-H program!
