Bob is a third generation grain and livestock farmer born and raised in Jersey County. As a youth, he and his two older brothers, Donald and Oliver, showed Hereford cattle in the Rangeline 4-H Club. He passed his love for 4-H and cattle onto his children, Mark, Bruce, Cindy and Michele, all of whom showed cattle     during their years in 4-H. As Bob retired from the farming operation, he became an avid horseman but his real passion is passing his love of horses onto youth. He was instrumental in forming Jersey County's current 4-H horse club, Happy Trails, in the Fall of 2012, and is active today with 14 members and four  devoted leaders. In addition, Bob has been a member of the Jersey County Fair Board for 50 years and was honored for his dedication by being chosen as one of the grand marshals of the Merchant's Parade that kicked off the 2016 Jersey County Fair.
