As a leader, Rose Sandstrom of Warren County helped the Happy Hustlers 4-H Club earn 15 State Awards and instilled the importance of community service in the youth through participation in St. Jude’s Bike-a-thon, American Heart Fund Drive, Christmas baskets, nursing home visits, Homecoming floats and Prime Beef Festival activities. One of the most noteworthy achievements was establishing a recycling program in the club’s hometown of Roseville. Rose has given back to 4-H by volunteering as a Dog/Cat Show Superintendent, 4-H General Show Secretary, Chairman of Pies for the annual 4-H BBQ, an Extension Council Representative, and by being an Illinois 4-H Foundation Donor.
