Retired Extension Unit Leader of Richland County; 10 year leader of Black Sheep Squadron of Richland County
Paul Wirth, retired Extension Unit Leader of Richland County (1998), was and is a public servant supporting the local Extension program. He is also involved in a multitude of public service works in the community. Thirty-five years ago he started a newspaper recycling project for 4-H clubs which continues today, collecting 8 to 9 tons of newspapers PER MONTH. Paul donates all maintenance for the large building owned by the County 4-H Foundation resulting in low rent for the Richland County Extension. He led the Black Sheep Squadron aerospace club for ten years He maintains many acres of forest in which the annual 4-H "Black Forest Campout" takes place, and he still chaperones that event. He still assists in plant and insect identification and landscapring questions from the public.
