How did 4-H contribute to your leadership skills today?

Leadership skills, like serving as a club officer, gave me the confidence to speak in front of large groups, develop organization and time management skills.

Did 4-H instill a career path for you?

The many 4-H projects I took led me to my first job as the Christian County Home Economics Assistant Youth Adviser, then the Home Economics Adviser and then the County Director role.

What advice do you have for someone who is interested in your career path?

All jobs require organizational, time management and leadership skills, which 4-H helps young people develop and become responsible, positive and productive citizens in our society.

What advice would you give a current 4-H member?

Embrace the opportunities provided by 4-H, whether it be the project work, preparing your talks and demonstrations, leadership roles, or helping younger members. These opportunities will help develop leadership skills, a sense of responsibility and lifelong friendships.

Why should young people join 4-H today?

4-H membership provides young people opportunities to participate in a wide variety of projects and introduce them to skills. Members gain knowledge, confidence and the support to become positive role models.
