Macoupin County is pleased to nominate John and Lolita Alward to the 4-H Hall of Fame. As a youth, John was a 10-year member of the Piasa Birds 4-H Club in Shipman. In 1963 he became a leader of the Piasa Birds club and in 1966, after returning from the Army, took over running the club again till 2008. His wife Lolita became a leader in the club in 1986. Lolita and John remain active in their community as members of the Macoupin County 4-H Foundation, 4-H Council and 4-H Committee.
