Rod and Gail Helton of Coles County served as club leaders for 13 years, with time in the Ridge Runners and Showstoppers 4-H clubs.  After retiring as a club leader, Rod became a 4-H Swine show superintendent and continues in that capacity.  Rod also helps with directional traffic signs and cooking meat for the Coles County annual pork chop dinner.

Gail became a leader for the Ridge Runners 4-H club and then with the aid of another parent, started their own club, the Showstoppers.  After retiring as a club leader, she continues to be involved in 4-H.  She works as a superintendent for the clothing and  general projects shows.   Gail's biggest commitment is that of serving on the pork chop dinner committee for almost 10 years! This fundraiser serves over 3000 meals and is the only annual fundraiser done in Coles County.
