John Loy has been a very influential volunteer that Effingham County is pleased to be able to recognize. In order to stop the misuse of prescription drugs, John started the P2D2 program to collect and recycle unwanted medicine at local pharmacies. He partnered with the County Sheriff’s Department to collect over 700 lbs. of unused prescription medication, to date. John helps 4-H youth by pitching in whenever possible and continues to promote 4-H to youth and their families. In addition, John encouraged local 4-H Youth Ambassadors to serve as School Resource Officers and help get the word out about the misuse of prescription drugs.
