Prior to Sandy Murray serving as the club contact leader for the This N That 4-H Club located in West Chicago, she was a 4-Her herself. She enjoyed showing her livestock at the DuPage County Fair and has regularly shared stories of her 4-H experiences during 4-H leader's meetings and county-wide events. As This N That's 4-H Club contact leader, Sandy helps to see that the club is organized by arranging for 4Her’s to: set goals; recruit new members; help plan yearly program activities; participate in community events and programs; and work with parents and other leaders to make sure that 4-Her’s are getting all they can out of their 4-H experience. Over the past few years, as issues of funding have become more critical to the 4-H program, Sandy has consistently showed support for the program. Whether it's selling pop at the county's International Night event or making dozens of her infamous pies to sell at a 4-H Foundation fundraiser, she is always eager to find a way to help. This dedication and support for the program and youth involved has helped maintain 4-H's success in DuPage County. DuPage County is truly grateful for Sandy's commitment to the 4-H motto "to make the best better." We are pleased to nominate her as DuPage County's 2011 4-H Hall of Fame nominee.
