Dale Wheeler is the senior member of a family involved in 4-H and county fairs spanning four generations. Known for raising quality sheep, Dale expanded into llamas in the 1990's.

Dale served as the initial 4-H llama superintendent for Edgar County. To generate interest and increase member ownership, Dale began a llama give-away contest, requiring parental support and appropriate housing, with Dale offering guidance to the winning family.The interest resulting from Dale's marketing resulted in approximately 35 llamas exhibited by 10 members. by serving as fair superintendents, judges and mentors.
