10 year member in Macon, Grundy, Champaign and JoDaviess County; 42 year leader of Betsy Juniors & Top Notchers of JoDaviess County

Elizabeth's involvement with 4-H has spanned decades. She started her experience with 4-H as a 10-year member in Macon, Grundy, Champaign, and Jo Daviess Counties. At the age of 19 she became a leader and still serves as a leader, cumulating more than 43 years of service to 4-H. As can be imagined, she has many fond memories and exciting moments from her many years as a leader. One of her favorite memories as a leader was when she led an outdoor meals group that had an outdoor meal somewhere in Jo Daviess County (state park, community park or private home) every Tuesday evening (6 weeks) of the summer. Some of her other activities and accomplishments include state record judging, county record judging committee chairman, 4-H fair superintendent, leading modeling and knitting workshops, 4-H barbecue assistant, and adult volunteer for county Federation. She also has great memories of Share the Fun and the Emerson Building action demonstrations at state fair. Elizabeth and her family (the Marvin Schnitzler and Howard Peverly Families), past and present, won the Illinois 4-H Family Spirit Award in 2004.
