Beside every successful man is a hardworking and loyal woman. Hardworking is indeed the word to describe Dorothy Yochem. Dorothy helped her husband lead one of the most active and well-attended 4-H clubs in Carroll County for 52 years. Following her husband's stroke, Dorothy became the organizational leader of the Prairie Edge 4-H Club for five years. Dorothy's duties during her 4-H career including organizing numerous club activities, providing meeting and event snacks, transporting many 4-H members to and from programs, and overseeing records. Together, the Yochems very successfully guided and nurtured many young people-including their three children-through the exploring, the learning, and the sharing that takes place in a meaningful club environment.
