Arlin Obst is a great role model! He has mentored a number of new Extension staff in successfully starting off their careers in Monroe County. He has worked with hundreds of youth teaching subject matters as well as character building and leadership. He also developed leadership skills in adults through Council involvement, Fair Association, Farm Bureau, and helping various groups form into an organization including the Monroe County Farmer's Market, Monroe County Rabbit Breeders Association, Monroe County Fair Association, and Monroe County Pork Producers. He was also instrumental in community economic development by assisting with county zoning and the County Planning Commission. He is truly a dedicated individual. Arlin was primarily responsible for the adult agriculture program but he enthusiastically pitched in with youth activities. He attended 4-H camp many times and helped with many other 4-H activities. He is a great team member with Extension staff and offers wisdom and guidance. It is a priviledge to work along side Arlin Obst!
