How did 4-H contribute to your leadership skills today?
I had wonderful role models and county extension advisors that were OUTSTANDING role models! I learned a lot through my 4-H Clubs and county Federation to be a member of a team. Public speaking, leadership and teamwork contributed to my career with U of IL Extension.

What advice do you have for someone who wants to enter your career path?
Loved foods projects, cooking, baking, preservation all of which led me to a Nutrition & Wellness Educator position and going back for a Masters degree in Nutrition/Dietetics. Liked to work with people and willing to work to achieve personal and professional goals.

What did you learn through 4-H that benefits you today?
After retiring, I’ve learned the joy of volunteering in my community.

What advice would you give a current 4-H member?
Try different projects, more than one, to expand your comfort zone. Find what you like to do and pursue your dreams!

To learn life skills and people skills!
