Favorite 4-H Projects: Sewing, Flower Arranging, Rabbits, Swine
Through 4-H I learned sewing! Sewing! I took sewing lessons from JoAnn Fabrics and from that, learned to make 4-H sewing projects. One year I got state fair alternate for modeling. They said they liked how much I smiled. I still remember how that compliment boosted my confidence. Also, giving presentations and talking to a project judge was a great life skill. I didn't think it would be at the time, but it really does have many benefits.
How did 4-H contribute to your leadership skills today?
I feel like being in 4-H has helped me guide my children in their 4-H projects. I believe it also helped me become outgoing and not afraid to speak in front of people.
What advice would you give a current 4-H member?
Have fun, sign up for lots of projects, and be as involved as you can be! 4-H is a great place to make good friends.
Why should young people join 4-H today?
It's a great place to make nice friends! And the whole family can be involved.
