How did 4-H contribute to your leadership skills today?

Through 4-H I had opportunities to lead committees and be an officer. I learned to communicate and set goals, make plans to meet goals and evaluate my work.

Did 4-H instill a career path for you?

Yes I became a 4-H advisor.

What advice do you have for someone interested in your career path?

A degree in consumer science opens doors to many careers. It’s more than the degree, along with being in extension or working with seniors take advantage of community service and leadership opportunities. Try new things and work outside your comfort zone.

What advice would you give a current 4-H member?

Take advantage of all opportunities you have in 4-H, especially leadership and community service.

An organization where you can work along side youth of all ages and learn life skills. There’s something for every area of interest as well as new things to try.
