Did any of your 4-H project skills, experiences or connections help prepare you for your career path?
Not directly, but certainly being a 4-H member helped me develop organizational skills and speaking skills.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to enter your career path?
A good teacher loves learning and working with children. Participating In community activities with children is a good way to discover if that is appealing to you. As a member of 4-H you will interact with children your own age as well as those who are younger or older.
What did you learn through 4-H that benefits you today?
Cooking and sewing in 4-H helped me develop skills that I have used my whole life. I still have my first cooking booklet and use favorite recipes from it often. 4-H also helped me gain confidence.
How did 4-H contribute to your leadership skills today?
Being a member of 4-H taught me how to work with others in a group. It also taught me organizational skills.
What advice would you give a current 4-H member?
Try new things and have fun. Listen to your leaders and explore projects outside your comfort zone.
