Did any of your 4-H project skills, experiences or connections help prepare you for your career path?
It prepared me for my social skills with talking to people, taught me how in depth you need to go above and beyond. 4-H taught me my love for agriculture that I still have today in my career.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to enter your career path?
Advice I would have is put in the effort to go above and beyond, ask questions when you ask questions, and don’t be afraid to speak up to help others. Always volunteer when you can.
What did you learn through 4-H that benefits you today?
What I’ve learned that’s till benefits me today, is the knowledge from the leaders and judges. They’ve taught me so much growing up and what to look for! Thank you to all of them for what they’ve taught me. The biggest thing I would say is how to be social with others and soak in information they give you.
How did 4-H contribute to your leadership skills today?
The skills it has given me is how to talk to my employees and customers. The talking to judges when I was a younger helped me come up with quick and correct answers. Always know what knowledge you need to know.
What advice would you give a current 4-H member?
Advice I would give a current 4-H member would be, take every leadership opportunity you can and do the best you can in all your projects.
Do you currently volunteer or have volunteered with the 4-H program? If so, in what capacity.
I have been on the local fair board and volunteered at the fair for quite a few years after I was out, this year was the first year I didn’t help due to moving but plan on helping the county I live in now once I can again.
