Yes, the competition with showing my swine project created my drive for success and competitive nature.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to enter your career path?
Continue to learn and grow within your industry; the ability to adapt is imperative. Networking is valuable and starts in your 4-H years.
What did you learn through 4-H that benefits you today?
Communication skills, time management, bookkeeping skills and good old hard work.
How did 4-H contribute to your leadership skills today?
Serving as a Club Officer was my first experience with holding an elected position. This served me well as I gained valuable experience including how to work cooperatively with a group of others. I’ve held a number of leadership positions in different organizations since my 4-H days and currently preside as Village President of my town.
What advice would you give a current 4-H member?
