Do you have family members that love fishing or would like to get into the sport? Would you like to have a fun family weekend where those who wanted to fish can while other family members can do other activities, all on the same property? If so, we have a great program for your family! Come join us for Reel Adventure Family Fishing Camp

Activities
Whether you have been fishing for years or you are just learning, this camp is for you! Our 16 acre restricted access lake has plenty of space for everyone attending this event. Fishing volunteers, including an IDNR Urban Fishing Program Coordinator, will be here to help those who are learning to setup their poles, get them baited, and take those first fish off. Bring your camera to take pictures of the bass, bluegills, crappies, and catfish being caught by your family. To add to the fun, we will have different fishing contests with prizes! A cleaning station and freezer will be set up if you want to take some fish fillets home. You are welcome to use our row boats to fish parts of the lake you cannot walk to easily. Fishing gear (including worms) will be available for use if you do not have your own.

For those not fishing or who just need a rest after pulling in so many fish, we will have arts & crafts, rock climbing, hayrack rides, S.T.E.M. activities, hikes, snacks around the campfire, and a lot of other fun camp activities just like our other Family Camps! We will send out the schedule prior to the event.

Required
At least one participant per family must be 4-H age (5-18 years old). Due to the nature of Family Camp, a parent, guardian or responsible adult must stay with the children in their care for the duration of their camp session.

Meals
Meals are included starting with Friday Dinner and ending with Sunday Breakfast. Let our kitchen take care of the cooking so you can enjoy the weekend! We will send out a menu prior to the event.
